Terms and Ethics
Simple, fair terms. Use TIGHC, and the hardware it drives, responsibly.
What TIGHC is
TIGHC is free, open-source software: a website (this one) and a desktop application (the Engine) that links keyboard/mouse input to a Buttplug/Intiface-compatible haptic device. Both are provided as-is, for personal use, at no cost. No account, subscription, or payment is required for either.
Acceptable use
You may use TIGHC for any lawful purpose, on hardware you own or have permission to use, including personal use, streaming/content creation, and development or research into your own setup.
Age requirement
TIGHC connects to and controls adult haptic/sex toy devices. It is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. Both the website and the Engine software ask you to confirm this before proceeding — don't use TIGHC, or help someone else circumvent that gate, if you or they don't meet that requirement.
Hardware safety is on you. TIGHC does not manufacture, sell, or inspect any hardware — it only sends the commands your profiles and keybinds tell it to, through Buttplug/Intiface, to whatever device you've connected. Follow your device manufacturer's own safety guidance (battery care, waterproofing limits, intensity/duration recommendations), and stop immediately if anything feels wrong.
Ethical use
Because of what this software does, a few things matter beyond just being lawful:
- Only connect and drive devices you own, or that their owner has knowingly and enthusiastically agreed to have connected — for the duration and in the manner they've agreed to.
- Don't use TIGHC, or share a profile, in a way intended to surprise, coerce, or take control away from someone without their ongoing consent.
- If you're building or sharing a game profile, keep its
vibeintensity ranges reasonable and clearly documented, so anyone using it knows roughly what to expect. - Respect that Buttplug/Intiface itself has its own terms and safety guidance — TIGHC doesn't override or supersede anything Intiface/Nonpolynomial Labs says about their own protocol or software.
Contributions
Pull requests to any of the TIGHC repos (Engine, Profiles, Website) are governed by that repo's own CONTRIBUTING.md. By opening a PR you're offering your changes to be included under the same terms as the rest of that repo.
No warranty
TIGHC — the site and the Engine software — is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about accuracy, availability, or continued support for any specific feature. This is a hobby project, maintained as time allows.
Third-party services
TIGHC links to and, in the Engine's case, optionally talks to third-party services (Intiface/Buttplug, SteamGridDB, GitHub). Each operates under its own terms — TIGHC isn't responsible for their content, availability, or policies.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time; the date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or the Engine software means you accept the current terms.
